Five out Five!!!

I was sitting in the kitchen, reading this book when my mom walked in and stopped—this was nothing unusual for my mom since I visit the library every Saturday and always have a book, or two in my purse. I looked up and found my mom entranced with the cover.

Can I start by gushing how amazing this cover is? I mean, wow. I normally don’t pick up these types of books, I’m a heavy YA reader, but I couldn’t say no to this cover. And I’m so glad I didn’t. I love the colors, the clashing of green and purple. It’s very symbolic of the book, two worlds meeting, two different people meeting and trying to figure out how they fit together, how they can work together and if they can be together. I loved the book.  It is so different from anything I’ve ever read – dimension traveling, drift lords, Norse Mythology, and Trolleks.

I picked up it at the Nancy Cohen’s book signing. It’s the first of the series. The six daughters of Odin must unite with the six sons of Thor to defeat the Dark Lord.  This book is the uniting of Nira Larsen, a trying to make ends meet makeup artist, and Zohar Thorald, the Crown Prince of the Star Empire and Drift Lord. Nira, adopted as baby, has no knowledge of her heritage or knowledge of another world’s existence, although her inherent pull to her mythology degree has been trying to tell her differently.

The book starts with a bam—Trolleks attacking, Nira rescued by the hot and hunky Drift Lords :), and the capture of her longtime friend, Grace. I can’t say enough amazing things about this book. It is so well written, plotted and thought out. It’s a beautiful merging of Sci-Fi and Norse Mythology. I strongly recommend this book and can’t wait for book two!!!  Adding Nancy Cohen to my must read list.

Warrior Prince

Drift Lord

The Drift Lords Series

A galactic warrior joins forces with a sexy mythologist to stop a dimensional rift from destroying Earth.

When mythology student Nira Larsen accepts a job as tour guide for a mysterious stranger, she’s drawn into a nightmare reality where ancient myths come alive and legendary evils seek to destroy her. To survive, she must awaken her dormant powers, but the only person who can help is the man whose touch inflames her passion.

After a dimensional rift in the Bermuda Triangle cracks open and an ancient enemy invades Earth, Zohar–leader of the galactic warriors known as the Drift Lords–summons his troops. He doesn’t count on a redheaded spitfire getting in his way and capturing his heart.

Nira has the power to defeat the enemy and to enslave Zohar’s soul. Can he trust her enough to accomplish his mission, or will she lure him to his doom?

“That was amazing.” She rested her hands on his shoulders.

“It is always amazing with you.” He brushed her lips lightly with his own.

He couldn’t deny the hold she had on him. It was more than just the transference of her immunity to the Trollek touch. He needed her to satisfy his soul, to bring him home, and that set off his internal warning alarms more than anything.

They belonged to different worlds, and even if he wanted to be with her, a permanent bond between them would never happen. Should it be necessary for him to take a wife, he’d long ago vowed to play no part in choosing his queen. Not that his people would ever let him make the same mistake as his sire.

For now, he had to be satisfied with sex. That’s all she could mean to him. He felt like a riff for using her, even though she didn’t ask for anything in return.

“We should get dressed.” His voice brusque, he ruffled her short hair. He didn’t want to hurt her. She was brave, determined, and resourceful. She deserved someone better than him with whom to spend the rest of her days.
